How does Iron Fish differ from other blockchains like Ethereum?

What is OreoWallet?
OreoWallet is a self-custody browser extension that empowers you to seamlessly receive, store, and send assets, including IRON, on the Iron Fish blockchain—without the need to run your own node.
What to expect from an Iron Fish wallet
An Ironfish wallet account is composed of several key elements: mnemonics, a private key (spending key), an incoming view key, an outgoing view key, a view key, and an address. OreoWallet securely uploads your incoming view key, outgoing view key, view key, and address to track transactions and keep your balance up to date. Your spending key, the only key that can access and control your assets, is always encrypted with a password and stored locally on your device. It's crucial to safeguard your spending key, as anyone with access to it can manage your assets.
Is OreoWallet secure?
Your OreoWallet's spending key is stored exclusively on your device and encrypted with a password of your choice, ensuring that only you have access—making OreoWallet fully self-custodial. When you create your wallet, you'll be given 24 words to securely record. In the event of a computer crash, these 24 words are essential for restoring your wallet on a new device.
Can Iron Fish CLI and OreoWallet share the same account?
Absolutely! You can easily import your account's 24-word seed phrase or spending key into OreoWallet. Similarly, if you create an account in OreoWallet and later decide to run a full node, you can import your OreoWallet account into the CLI wallet without any hassle.
What happens if my browser crashes, I forget my password, or lose my 24-word recovery phrase?
If your browser crashes, you can easily log back into your wallet using your password. If you forget your password, you can restore your wallet with your 24-word recovery phrase and set a new password. However, if you lose your 24 words, your wallet and its contents will be permanently lost.
